Official Handover

On the 13th September 2019, North East Community House Inc. hosted the official handover of the management of The Hillcrest Community Centre to North East Community House Inc.

Biggest Morning Tea 2019

Our Biggest Morning Tea for 2019 was a great event featuring delicious cakes and finger sandwiches prepared by our high-noon lunch team. We also held a raffle and raised $637 towards cancer research.

International Women’s Day 2019

International Women’s Day for 2019 celebrated women and their great achievements with three speakers who talked about various topics. Firstly, Chantell Pern who talked about her life experiences then Glenys Kanderlaas on being a lung transplant recipient, and Hannah Evans JP on being a young woman working in local government. Food for the event was donated by Dulwich bakery.

North East Community Day 2018

North East Community Day 2018 was attended by approximately 3000 people with a focus on providing a range of activities for children and an opportunity for locals to engage with support services, sporting clubs and businesses including Paw Prints, Hillcrest Scouts, Lions Club, and many more.

Biggest Morning Tea 2018

Biggest Morning Tea 2018 was attended by approximately 50 people and raised $703 towards cancer research.

International Women’s Day 2018

The inaugural International Women’s Day featured 4 women who spoke about their success and life experiences. Speakers included medal winning Olympian Libby Kosmala, lady on the land Evelyn Stringer, Zulfiya Abdulla who talked about life as an immigrant and Sabina Siddigua who talked about life in Bangladesh.

North East Community Day 2017

Community Day 2017 had a varied amount of stalls and activities including a kids bouncy castle, face painters, and crafting activities. There was also a DJ performance all day. A number of stallholders were present where people could connect with local community clubs and buy various goods.

Biggest Morning Tea 2017

2017 Biggest Morning Tea was attended by 39 people and help raised over $450 towards cancer research.

North East Community Day 2016

North East Community Day 2016 featured a large amount of stalls where local community members could interact with different organisations within the community including the Lions club, Scouts and Girl Guides, and various sporting clubs. Entertainment on the day include crafting activities for kids, all day DJ performances and 2 indigenous performances by Allan Sumner.

Biggest Morning Tea 2016

The Biggest Morning Tea for 2016 was attended by approximately 60 people and raised $300 dollars towards cancer research.

North East Community Day 2015

Community Day in 2015 had over 3000 people attend the event from 10 am to 3pm. A large number of stallholders from local businesses, sporting and social clubs attended and an array of free activities for children including face painters and entertainment in the form of dance performances and live music was available for all to enjoy.

North East Community Day 2014

The inaugural North East Community Day was a great success. Many local community groups and businesses participated in the event. Stallholders and residents enjoyed communicating and socialising. Entertainment was provided on the day and was enjoyed by all.
